Refund, cancellation and billing policy
How billing works, how to cancel, when you get a refund, and how long it takes to reach you.
- Effective
- 26 July 2026
- Version
- 1.0
This policy forms part of the terms of service. It applies to paid plans. The free plan costs nothing, so nothing here applies to it except clause 2.
The short version
Cancel whenever you like, from your account settings, and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. If you cancel within 7 days of a first payment or an annual renewal, ask us and we will refund it in full. Refunds go back to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.
1.Plans and billing
- Plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, and renew automatically until you cancel.
- Prices are shown in US dollars on the pricing page. Your bank or card issuer may apply its own conversion rate and cross-border fee, which we do not receive and cannot refund.
- Per-user plans are charged on the number of seats in your workspace. Adding a seat mid-cycle is charged pro rata. Removing a seat takes effect at the next renewal.
- Card details are handled by our payment processor and never reach our servers. The processor is named on your invoice.
2.Free plan and trials
The free plan has no time limit and needs no payment method. If a trial of a paid plan requires one, we will tell you clearly before you start, tell you the date it converts, and email you before it does. Cancel before that date and you are not charged.
3.Cancelling
Cancel at any time from account settings, or by emailing billing@dropthedoc.xyz from your account address. There is no cancellation fee, no notice period and no retention call to sit through.
- Cancellation stops the next renewal. It does not end the current period.
- You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- After that, the workspace moves to the free plan if it fits within those limits, or becomes read-only so you can still export.
- Documents already sent stay valid. Cancelling your plan does not invalidate a signature or void a completed document.
Export before you close a workspace
Cancelling a plan keeps your data. Closing a workspace deletes it after 30 days, and because documents are encrypted at rest we cannot bring them back. Download your completed documents and certificates of completion first.

Nothing in this table limits a statutory right you have as a consumer. Where the law gives you more than this policy does, the law wins.
5.How to request a refund
- Email billing@dropthedoc.xyz from the address on your account.
- Give us the invoice number or the date and amount of the charge, and one line on what happened.
- We acknowledge within 2 business days and decide within 7 business days.
- Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days of approval. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.
We refund to the original payment method only, as our payment processor and card network rules require. We cannot refund to a different card, a different person or a bank account.
If we decline a refund and you disagree, escalate through the grievance redressal policy. Please raise it with us before starting a chargeback: a chargeback freezes the disputed amount and takes considerably longer than we do.
6.Consumers in the EU and UK
If you are a consumer in the EEA or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of entering into it, without giving a reason, under Directive 2011/83/EU and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
By starting to use a paid plan within that period you expressly request that we begin performance immediately and acknowledge that you lose the right to withdraw once the service has been fully performed. If you withdraw part way through, we may charge you in proportion to what you used before withdrawing. Our 7-day full-refund policy in clause 4 sits alongside this right and does not replace it, and where the statutory right gives you more, it applies.
To withdraw, email billing@dropthedoc.xyz. Any clear statement is enough, and we will refund within 14 days of being told.
7.Failed payments
- If a payment fails we will email you and retry over the following days.
- Your account stays active for a grace period of 7 days.
- After that we may downgrade the workspace to the free plan or make it read-only. We do not delete data for non-payment.
- Update your payment method in account settings to restore access. Nothing is lost in the meantime.
8.Taxes and invoices
- India. Supplies to customers in India carry GST at the applicable rate, currently 18 per cent. We issue a GST-compliant tax invoice. Supply a valid GSTIN in billing settings and it will appear on the invoice so you can claim input tax credit.
- Outside India. Supplies to customers outside India are treated as export of services and are zero-rated where the conditions under Indian GST law are met. You are responsible for any VAT, sales tax, use tax or reverse charge that applies where you are, and for self-accounting for it where your local rules require.
- Withholding. If your local law requires you to withhold tax from a payment to us, the amount due is grossed up so that we receive the full invoiced sum, and you will send us the withholding certificate.
- Invoices are available in account settings and are emailed on each charge. Ask billing@dropthedoc.xyz if you need a detail corrected. We can reissue an invoice, but we cannot backdate one or change the tax treatment after the event.
9.Price changes
We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email before the change applies to your next renewal. The price you are on now applies until the end of your current period. If you do not accept a new price, cancel before it takes effect and you will not be charged it.
